Tolterodine is a competitive muscarinic receptor antagonist with actions similar to atropine. It is used in the management of urge urinary incontinence, urgency, and frequency.
It belongs to the class of urinary antispasmodics.
>18 yr: 2 mg twice daily, may reduce to 1 mg twice daily to reduce AR. Extended release 4 mg once daily, may reduce to 2 mg/day to reduce AR.
Adverse drug reactions
: dry mouth, chest pain, headache, somnolence, fatigue, dry skin, abdominal pain, constipation, dyspepsia, diarrhea, dizziness, anxiety, dry eyes, paresthesia, nervousness, urinary retention.
