A specialized ambulatory facility that can be assigned to a hospital or serve as an independent institution.
It deals with special disease groups or with population subgroups (according to age or social status).
Primary efforts of such facilities are aimed at prevention and diagnosis through systematic screening and monitoring of patient groups, often with the help of mass campaigns, though these facilities have therapeutic equipment as well.
